چکیده
Oroxylum indicum Vent is a medium-sized deciduous tree that belongs to the family Bignoniaceae. The roots of this are used as one ten ingredients prepare Dasamula formulation in Ayurvedic system medicine India. Although traditional uses attributed medicinal plant, there limited scientific data on its potential. present study thus analyzed cytotoxic and apoptotic potential plant against different cancer cells. MTT assay was determine cytotoxicity using HeLa, HCT 15, MDA-MB-231 cells, with IC50 values, revealed at concentrations 92.43, 133.0, 112.84 µg/mL respectively. However, extract less toxic non-cancer HeLa cells further treated OIM were subjected flow cytometric analysis for studying cell cycle stages. When untreated G1 phase found relative percentage 71.9%, it increased 79.3 86% treatment 50 100 µg/mL; S decreased from 10.3 8.2 7.5%, concluding arrest phase. With morphology dual acridine orange–ethidium bromide staining Annexin–Hoechst staining, early late stages observed concentration. such effects noticed treatment, could not be concluded had remarkable anti-proliferative effects, since small changes induction attained high concentration µg/mL. biological activities plants their extracts presence multifarious compounds them. LC-MS Q-TOF confirmed biochanin A baicalein OIM. HPLC-based quantification chrysin shown 3.36 1.11 mg/gram dry weight. To conclude, above results suggest root bark O. has broad spectrum activities, including anticancer properties.
